Komp u ter hulp is not a normal computer shop.

It is an Educational Centre.
Our Dutch home page

We train Drop-outs to repair computers, and we donate computers to children from the ethnic minority groups who have educational challenges.
We have over 1.000 computers located in The Hague area.

We also provide training for disabled youths.
We are currently training a girl of 17, who is disabled and can not use her hands. She is typing with her toes and helps to set up computers. She is now working on her website.
On our second location there is an elevator and an adapted toilet, to accommodate the needs of the disabled trainees.

In The Hague there is an Organisation of Sierra Leone and they want to start to send a lot of solar lamps so that the children can do their homework when it is dark.
They will try to train groups of 12 women (twice a year) to The Hague at (Komp u ter hulp) so that they can learn how to manage a computer centre, using especially Linux and open Office because that is free of license costs.
The systems that they will be learning to build and to use are thin clients systems.
10 computers will normally use 4.000 watts of electricity; but with
a thin client system with 10 users, uses 1.000-1.200 watt only.
